About Best Companies

Best Companies is a workplace engagement specialist founded on the principle of helping to make the world a better workplace. The company was set up in 2001 and provides all of the research and information for the highly regarded Sunday Times ‘100 Best Companies to Work For' list.

The company was established by Chief Executive Jonathan Austin and has built up a dedicated team of 42 staff in the past nine years. The team works hard to improve working environments across the UK by providing a benchmark of workplace engagement for both staff and clients. By surveying staff members on key issues such as leadership, management, personal growth and wellbeing, Best Companies highlights which companies demonstrate the highest level of staff satisfaction.

Best Companies Accreditation is now widely recognised as a sign of workplace excellence and the organisation has been commended for its dedication to providing unbiased and independent information. The company is deeply committed to honesty and endeavours to have a positive impact on social change through encouraging companies to employ their methods of workplace engagement.

Best Companies has also, over the past three years, set up the Best Companies Guide website as well as providing research data for The Sunday Times. Companies which have received Best Company Accreditation are able to use this website to post job vacancies providing jobseekers with the chance to working at some of the UK’s best companies. The organisation has also recently branched out and now not only provides information on the best companies to work for, but also the best public sector and council workplaces.
