Manchester Digital is an independent trade association devoted to serving the North West’s burgeoning digital media sector. The body was set up with the aim of creating an open environment in which local companies would find it easier to do business with each other.

The not-for-profit organisation holds regular conferences and seminars, designed to aid communication between companies working in the ICT and digital media markets and increase the spread of information and ideas among them.

theEword is a proud member of the Manchester Digital community and is just one of the many companies that benefit from the work it does. We believe that the exchanging of news, intelligence and business opportunities is vital to the furthering of the North West’s digital media scene.

In a sector that is set to become increasingly competitive going forward, we think it is important for the region’s digital media companies to pull together in order to maintain a strong standing against competition from companies based in London and overseas. The spirit of cooperation fostered by the Manchester Digital organisation will be instrumental in achieving this aim.

Manchester Digital also organises and looks after the running of the annual Big Chip Awards, which celebrate success in North West digital media. The awards were set up in 2002 and have a strong track record of honouring the very best projects and teams from around the region. Highlighting the excellent work carried out in the region is another vital tool in maintaining an edge against global competition.
