Introducing theEword Labs
A collection of free smartphone tools has been released by Manchester specialist search agency theEword.
Called theEword Labs, the site contains 6 tools that help people find information about - or originating from - their local area. Each one is compatible with all major smartphones, including iPhones, Android phones and Blackberries, but can also be viewed from desktop PCs.
They were created by senior developer Adrian Mursec and developer Matthew Pettitt on one of theEword's monthly development days, where employees focus on projects that interest them.
Smartphone tools in theEword Labs
The following smartphone tools are available now:
Adrian Mursec, senior developer at theEword, said: "With theEword Labs, we wanted to showcase how people can get more relevant information by opting into location-tracking on their smartphones. Our tools can help you find local tweets and Wikipedia pages that you may otherwise have missed. But my personal favourite is Google Local Food Places because when I'm hungry, I love being able to instantly find local restaurants wherever I am."
More smartphone tools will be added to theEword Labs in the coming months. To use the current tools for free, simply point a smartphone browser at http://labs.theeword.co.uk/
