August stats favourable for Google
The latest UK search engine market share data for August 2012 has been revealed by visitor counter service StatCounter Global Stats.
In August 2012 so far, Google.com and Google.co.uk have received a combined total of 91.37 per cent of UK search volume. That's 0.32 per cent up on its July 2012 search engine market share. Meanwhile, Bing is down by 0.53 to just 4.23 per cent of search volume, Yahoo attracted 2.38 per cent, and Ask remained stable on 0.55.
Winning search terms
August was a big month for search, as Google revealed astonishing London 2012 search stats. According to Google Insights for Search, the fastest rising UK search terms for the last 30 days are mainly Olympics-related, including BBC Olympics, Olympics tickets and Team GB; in fact, 'Olympics' made it into the top ten overall most searched-for terms. Other fast-rising searches this month included Euromillions and Big Brother. On a worldwide scale, Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson also saw a huge increase in searches this month.
