Facbook has posted a rise of three million monthly active users in the United States according to new research. The news comes from InsideFacebook.com, who estimate the social network has recovered from a decline in users in June in the country.
Writing on the site, InsideFacebook employee Chris Morrison commented:
"Facebook has recovered from a widely-noted June slowdown in the United States. The social network sprang back into action in July, adding more than three million monthly active users across all demographics."
However, the news is not all positive for Facebook and, according to the investigation, the social network has lost users from the younger demographics.
"Facebook’s persistent privacy issues, real or not, have turned away some younger users — if this dynamic made an impact last month, it does not appear large enough to have done so again," added Morrison.
Indeed, Facebook has recently suffered from a spate of privacy controversies. In June, the site was forced to roll out new settings in order to satisfy complaints that existing privacy options were too complicated.
However, industry analysts have said that the decline of the younger Facebook demographics in America will probably not cause the site's founders too much concern. Indeed, Facebook recently surpassed 500 million users and the social network continues to make inroads into lucrative foreign markets.
"Fortunately for Facebook, there are still vast global markets to be tapped; and while the US may often lead monthly growth even in the future, its gains are far outweighed by the aggregate additions of the rest of the world," added Morrison in the report.
