A new Google Analytics feature
Users of Google Analytics will now be able to view mobile ads performance for high-end mobiles and tablets following the introduction of a new feature.
The Google Mobile Ads blog announced that Google has introduced additional tabs which will help Google Analytics users understand how well their ads are doing on mobile devices. A new toggle will now appear on all AdWords reports, allowing users to isolate their mobile ads and gain further insight into how successfully they are performing.
The new Analytics feature has been designed to contain 'All', 'High-end Mobile' and 'Tablet' tabs. This will allow Google Analytics users to analyse the effectiveness of their mobile ads on different devices. However this addition is only available to those who are now using the new Google Analytics interface.
The importance of mobile devices
The isolation of mobile ads performance within Google Analytics indicates that businesses now need to understand that their consumers are increasingly using tablets and high-end mobiles, and also recognise how this will affect their online advertising strategy. Phil Mui, a member of the Google Analytics team, said that: "As more consumers begin to make use of tablets or high-end mobile devices, businesses need to understand this shift towards mobile and adapt [their] marketing mix."
This new Analytics feature will allow companies to understand more about how mobile ads work with their business. Daniel Nolan, general manager at theEword stated: "This addition to Analytics will allow companies to notice the number of visits that they receive as a result of mobile ads, which can help them gain even more insight into their consumers and how they access their site."
