Losses all round

The latest UK search engine market stats have been revealed by Experian Hitwise.

The figures show that for the four weeks ending 11th June 2011, all three of the major players are down compared to their May 2011 search engine market share. Google.com and Google.co.uk obtained a combined share of 90.45 per cent of search volume. This is down 0.11 points on May, while Bing's 0.08 point drop left it with 3.97 per cent of search volume. Yahoo was also down to 2.49 per cent, while Ask.com saw a small increase to 1.38 per cent.

In a similar story to last month, however, Google's share of visits was lower than its share of searches. In contrast, the three other search engines received a higher percentage of visits than searches. Google remains above Facebook as the most visited site in the UK.
