Kids should not use net, says Hannah Montana star
Children should do their utmost to avoid using the internet, according to top Hollywood stars.
Miley Cyrus has spoken out against social media sites such as Facebook after a 13-year-old girl was groomed and kidnapped by a 48-year-old man in California. The man is said to have used such websites in order to snatch her.
Now Hannah Montana star Cyrus – a big hit among US teenagers – has warned young people to stay away from dangerous websites whenever possible.
She said: "I'm urging kids – don't go on the internet. It's not fun – it's dangerous."
Clooney quick to criticise Facebook
Just as Facebook celebrates its 500 millionth user, actor George Clooney has commented that he has much better things to do than use the networking portal.
The 49-year-old is furious after fans set up an account on the website in his name. Clooney, however, insists he would rather not waste his time with the site.
He said: "I'd rather have a prostate exam live on TV given by a guy with very cold hands than have a Facebook page."
One celebrity clearly benefitting from the website is pop star Lady Gaga. The singer was earlier this month revealed to be the most popular living person on Facebook, having registered over 10 million 'friends'.
However, Gaga is not the most popular overall personality on Facebook, as the late Michael Jackson has managed to amass over 14 million online followers despite his sudden death last year at the age of 50.
