Dan joined theEword team in August 2008, having previously worked as an online copy specialist for HMPJ. With several years' experience in media, Dan has written for titles such as CityLife, the Manchester Evening News and various music websites. He now creates and manages content for our key clients, overseeing our team of writers and handling the flow of content from our office.
When he isn't at work, Dan likes to relax by indulging his great passion in life: listening to music. From an early age he enjoyed hunting out new sounds, tuning in at first to radio shows presented by the likes of Steve Lamacq and John Peel before switching to the internet with the birth of the MP3 and music blogs. Dan has been fortunate enough to exploit his love of music and brilliant writing skills for commercial gain, becoming a successful freelancer in both the local and national press.
Dan is also a dedicated follower of fashion (although how closely he manages to do so is, quite frankly, debatable) and is famed in the office for his love of designer t-shirts and garish socks. He spends "more time than is feasible" trawling clothing stores for new buys and his favourite ones are Topman, Urban Outfitters and the vintage shops of Manchester's Northern Quarter. Dan loves to read and is rumoured to own over 1,000 books. His favourite novel is Albert Camus' L'Etranger but he also loves the work of George Orwell. In recent years, Dan has also built up a vast non-fiction collection.
Dan lives alone in Salford with his flat screen television and laptop.
