Mike joined theEword in June 2009 after studying Marketing Management at Manchester Metropolitan University, where he completed specialised modules in marketing communications and brand management. His previous work experience in marketing includes a placement at PR firm Golley Slater, whose clients include Mitsubishi and the British Army, where he worked with account managers, assisting them in their duties. Among other companies at which he has completed placements, Mike has also spent time working at Unipart Rail.

Having moved to Manchester in order to study, Mike has come to love the rainy city he now calls home. He has recently relocated to the city centre - a few miles away from his previous based in Fallowfield and the ‘noisy students’ he once called his peers - where he enjoys an eagle-eye view of the city’s streets from his Northern Quarter abode.

When he's not admiring the city landscape from his balcony, Mike maintains a strong interest in travelling - so much so, he’s just returned from a three week tour of Thailand. Back on these fair shores, Mike’s a bit of activity nut and regularly plays football as well as engaging in other, more combative activities such as paintballing. On the subject of sport, a biography of Mike would not be complete without a mention of his love for Liverpool Football Club. As a native scouser, Mike’s love for all things Liver is equal to the passion and drive he possesses for marketing and SEO.
