More theEword Staff

Nick joined theEword at the end of 2009 after returning from a period spent travelling around the USA. He brings with him a wealth of PHP and development skills, as well as a firm understanding of SEO, having previously worked for one of Manchester's largest optimisation agencies. He graduated from the University in Salford with an honours degree in Computing.

It was during the course of completing his degree that Nick developed – if you excuse the pun – an interest in moving into web programming and his coding skills take in a range of disciplines such as PHP, MySQL, Apache, Linux and HTML.

Away from the world of search engine optimisation and PHP files, Nick enjoys computer gaming ("anything Valve stick their name to I'll play"), with the Half Life series and other FPS games being his favourite. He also loves American television, citing Arrested Development, Deadwood and The Wire as his top shows.

In 2008, Nick spent time travelling around Eastern Europe, racking up one of his greatest achievements – surviving the Romanian railway system – along the way. He also visited the US in 2009, starting in New York and heading across the south to LA.
