Simon Richardson MBE awards gold to theEword

British Paralympic champion cyclist Simon Richardson MBE has launched his professional, search engine optimised website after teaming up with the north-west’s leading web design experts.

Simon, who won two gold medals at the 2008 Beijing Paralympics, invited Manchester specialist search marketing agency theEword to create an online presence for him earlier this year. In less than two months, theEword designed and built a fully functioning website – Simon Richardson MBE.

The website’s aim is to provide a comprehensive online resource that showcases all Simon’s professional activities, so it features full integration with his social media accounts. The homepage contains live Twitter updates and images from his Flickr account, while a separate section of the website links to videos from his YouTube channel. There is also a blog written by Simon, a biography and a list of his racing achievements.

Simon said: “I’ve been so impressed with the response from theEword. They were able to take my content, do a re-design and get proofs back to me with lightning speed. If there was a gold medal for web development, theEword would definitely win it!”

Tom Glass, creative director at theEword, said: “Simon Richardson’s website has been a really exciting project for us to work on. Producing a fully search engine optimised site in two months is always a challenge, but it’s one that we relish. Simon is such an inspirational figure and our team thoroughly enjoyed working with him on this project.”
