My work involves two main processes:

Preparing proposals and pitches: attending prospect meetings, interpreting briefs, understanding the (prospective client’s) business and its objectives, then working with our channel heads to plan strategies, generate ideas, and cost everything up.

Research: gathering insights to feed into campaigns, which is a combination of learning about the business and industry, online/desk/market research, and qualitative research (speaking directly to the audience via focus groups, interviews, surveys etc)

I really enjoy getting under the skin of businesses and understanding exactly how we can help them. It’s really satisfying to see how well my research phase has prepared us for a campaign.

I joined theEword as a Content Writer, was promoted to Head of Content, and am now Head of Planning. I’ve also got a Google Analytics qualification.

Before theEword I wrote for music websites, did an internship with Big Issue in the North, and completed an NCTJ course in subediting. Before that, I studied at Warwick University.

My interests outside of work include music, European city breaks, festivals, and reading.
